the name is so common for pets, but with YTMND being a big part of my life, I couldn't let it get away. my first gerbil (1996-1999) was Fritz(y), and I also had a hamster (2000-2001) named Missy. Fritz died of old age and Missy supposedly fell off her wheel and landed on the raised base of it on her back and likely broke it. Max is already 3-6 months old according to the lady at Pet Smart.
My sister had a bunch of pet dwarf hamsters all named stripe. The first one lived for a couple years, the next like 5 died in 6 months at most. Then the last one that she didn't even take care of lived for 3 years until it finally started growing some crazy thing out of its ear then it died like a month later with the thing in its ear giant. I tried to get my dad to take it to the vet, but he didn't want the vet to see the cage that hadn't been cleaned in like a year. It was buried in the garbage.
