hmm...I looked for the article you speak of, but I can't find it. Still, you've exaggerated: " 2000 U.S. Census 33 percent of female same-sex couple households and 22 percent of male same-sex couple households reported at least one child under the age of 18 living in the home."
And that includes children produced in a number of ways, so the number of gays that have fathered children is probably lower.
