If he were alive during the old testament, Harry Potter would have been put TO DEATH!

I completely agree with this wacko christian extremist. Harry Potter is evil! You know what his influence is doing to the children of the world, encouraging them to read and have imagination! We can't have kids reading and developing into intelligent young men and women, NO! We need them to be mindless idiots who will be more easily molded into a radical extremist.
@miltonstapler: You can't say that all of Christianity is stupid, I am a Christian myself and I think this woman is a f*ckin' tart. Everything has dumbasses involved that take things a little bit too far. Look at the government, although they do the right thing at times, they do some stupid *ss sh*t others, but that doesn't mean that everybody in the government is a total idiot.
There are some twisted people out there. Thankfully, not all Christians are this way. The priest of my church doesn't look at things that way. He says it's great that these books exist, because they're getting children reading again. I don't think these people who burn Harry Potter books have even READ them. If they had, they'd see that while there are is black magic in them, it's used by the villains. This is a modern day story of good vs. evil.
"There are some twisted people out there. Thankfully, not all Christians

says it's great that these books exist, because they're getting children
reading again." I don't think that ANY true christian believes its horrible. I think you guys ran into some pretty heavy extremeists.
"Ah, i listened to it again. It seems to be taken out of context, but it
still is a bizzare statement. Was this a televangelist running this?" It wasn't really taken out of context. The woman speaking was one of the people running a youth ministry camp-thing. You can view the whole documentary here: http://throwawayyourtv.com/2006/12/jesus-camp-full-doc.html
i know a lot of Christians here would want to disassociate with this christian, and while yes, she is a nutjob, YES - the Old Testament WOULD put him to death, Harry Potter IS a slight against christianity, etc - sure, go ahead and be 'moderate' christians and/or believe in belief - but dont kid yourself - moderate christians just pick and choose what they believe, its the whackos like her that are probably closer to what (not the more tolerant jesus but) much of the Bible preaches.
Notice how the jesus camp (I've been to a few, hated every minute of it and part of the reason why I now turn my back on all religion) hyperanal christian speakers (much like George Bush) always speak in short phrases, so that the rest of the slobbering f*cktards can follow it.
So, what have we learned?
1. DON'T mess with FOOTBALL.
2. DON'T make HEROES out of WARLOCKS.
I always found it odd that wacko Christains believe there is one "true" god that will not grant his believers any divine power while there are "warlocks and witches" that are granted powers by false gods that don't really exist... Maybe I'm misunderstanding them, but trying to apply any sort of logic to their worldview, or having a reasoned debate with them is a losing proposition anyway.
