sorry smoothmedia, Gotta dissagree on this one. The words "well take it" seem to be indicating something else. Besides, 1 They hate bush, 2 Liberals=less government=less regulations=holes in our security. If less government is regarded as a good thing, thats up to the individual, but the above equation is basic. 3. If I were a network, I would be looking at their activity and their reactions too. I don't have any doubt that they would react positively towards a change in our government.
I-am-batman: Since when does Liberalism mean LESS government, that is a conservative value. Also, those on the left will object to your assertion that Liberalism somehow leads to holes in our security. This is clear evidence that Fox News actually instructs it's analysts to take pro-republican stances, and hunt out stories that favour republicans. I don't disagree with you that Terrorists hate Bush, and probably like the idea of his power being deminished...but they don't like the Democrats.
uh ohs politicalspeak. "Liberalism is an ideology, philosophical view, and political tradition which holds that liberty is the primary political value." Liberalism is a dangerous ideal especially with an educated populace where it may become damaging for politicians to use dishonest rhetoric and blatant spin tactics. All sheep need a shepherd. Down with liberalism. Up with conservatism (fascism).
Although I hate Fox News, I wouldn't be surprised if the Iraqi Nationalist insurgents (read: not Al-Qaeda linked groups) are happy the Democrats have regained control. Their stated goal from day one was to force the Americans to GTFO of thier country by any means. Convincing the American people to call for a withdrawal by making the occupation as costly as possible has been thier strategy.
well, they actually did release a statement saying that the dems in power meant a victory for them. Not saying I agree (that it is a victory for them), but they aren't being baised because they hit the nail right on the head (because the are elated at the dem victory). Therefore, your ytmnd fails... sorry
Here is a good site. http://www.politicalcompass.org/ . "left vs. right" is only half of someone's political philosophy. Korf, you are using the old definition of liberalism, also known as classical liberalism, which was the driving philosophy of the American Revolution. The term "liberalism" as (mis)used today usually refers to socialism or even communism.
American "Liberalism" as it is defined today is actually the opposite of liberalism as it is defined in most of the rest of the world. Outside of the US, liberalism would be akin to libertarianism in the United States--that is to say less government control on both civil AND economic aspects of society. Today the terms liberalism and conservatism are missued in the US, where the general idealogy of liberals is more government restrictions on the economy and less impeding of civil rights, wheres
