CellFactor doesn't actually require an Ageia PhysX PPU...

I'm not buying one. If you dedicate one of the cores of a future dual core (or quad core) CPU then you have a free and standardized source for processing all those physics. I have just a small portion of an ancient Thoroughbred B core 2700+ running this CellFactor demo smoothly. (we'll call this an elitist discussion since only like three people know where to find it)
Over the past year, I'd like to think that I learned quite a bit about the situation. The situation still remains at a constant regardless of minor inaccuracies along the way: A PPU may be faster, but it is unnecessary for the mainstream (and therefore recommended not to be adopted by anything but extreme niches); furthermore, CellFactor's tech demo & parts of the full game run without one at decent speeds.
