You think your'e so smart, but your'e not. I know what ironic means. In the context of revealing an unintended truth about something, it can be appropriate as well. For example, the fact that you are making yourself look very foolish here in an attempt to do so to me would be ironic from your perspective. However, I would find such an irony to be appropriate.

madDog please come on! Irony doesn't seem to be the appropriate word. I mean, it would be ironic, if say... you brought up the seperation of church and state....but that's iffy at best. The fact that people consider him to be a god isn't counterpointing something you gave us. That's why I don't understand why this is ironic.

Looks like someone has tunnel vision here, because I thought that this question was answered in plethora below. But I will repeat the points, just for you. 1. We live in a secular nation, that there was supposed to be a division of powers, including that of church and state. The idea was that unlike the kings from days of old, that politicians would base their views upon reason instead. This would help keep certain kinds of tyrants from office. Unfortunately, this principle was badly abused over time

Now, both parties have both become heavily infested with religious rhetoric. Although, the democrats were allegedly supposed to be much less worse. 2. Because of this, the democrats have had the moral high ground from the secularist perspective. But now, many have pointed out that quite lately, the democrats have been abusing this principle just like the republicans. They fiercely denied this. This picture is simply more proof of their hypocrisy.

Big difference. Those two books you mentioned are specifically religious. Right on their front covers. They had little to do with politics. The books in this photo, however, are really more of a mish-mosh of various things. They do not come out and say that they have anything to do with religion. One of them, "Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope" is supposed to be a biography. It's pretty clear that the lines between philosophy, religion and politics is being blurred.

fix the audio's volume consistency ftw. Have to turn up the speakers to make out what Obama is saying only to have the fail noise blasting out at the very end. Irony on multiple levels here: President's books in the religion section vs Separation of Church and State for one.

Yes, it is the truth indeed. But ieldanth said it pretty well. We live in an allegedly secular nation. We are supposed to have a wall between church and state. Yet all these fools seem to be ignoring this. For an additional irony on top of that one, the democrats have always complained (rightly so) that republicans and conservatives have embraced religion too much and try to force it on everyone else. But now Obama and his democrats are doing the same exact thing. This picture speaks 1000 words.
