   We're talking UK.  I just don't know much about British Common Law, but I know that companies sue for infringement and celebrities sue for defamation in the UK more often than in the US because they don't have quite as broad interpretation of protected speech in  precedence.   That's my guess for why the C&D letter is from Sega-Europe and not Sega-USA.
