What if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness
And say to you, "Everything unutterably small or great in this life will have to return to you,
All in the same succession and sequence, even this spider and this moonlight between the trees, and even this moment and I myself - the eternal hourglass."
Speck of dust!
Speck of dust!
Speck of dust!
If this thought gained possession of you, it would change you,
Or perhaps it would crush you;
The question in each and everything,
"Do you desire this once more, and innumerable times more?"
The question in each and everything,
"Do you desire this once more, and innumerable times more?"
Would you lie upon your actions as the greatest weight!
This life as you now live and have lived it before,
You will live once again
And there will be nothing,
But every pain and joy,
And every thought and sigh,
And every pain and joy,
And every thought and sigh!
Or how well disposed would you become to yourself and to life to crave nothing more fervently than this ultimate eternal confirmation and seal?
The question is..
The question is..
The question is..
The greatest weight!
Our country reeks of trees / Our yaks are really large / And they smell like rotting beef carcasses / And we have to clean up after them / And our saddle sores are the best / We proudly wear women's clothing / And searing sand blows up our skirts / And the buzzards, they soar overhead / And poisonous snakes will devour us whole / And our bones will bleach in the sun / And we will probably go to [CENSORED] / And that is our great reward / For being the-uh Ro-oy-al Canadian Kilted Yaksmen!
This life as you now live and have lived it before, You will live once
again And there will be nothing, But every pain and joy, And every
thought and sigh, And every pain and joy, And every thought and
sigh! Or how well disposed would you become to yourself and to life to
crave nothing more fervently than this ultimate eternal confirmation and
seal? The question is.. The question is.. The question is.. The
greatest weight! the spirograph continues.....
Yeah n*gg*. Although I live in Toronto, so thats not really Canada. Canada is where you live out in the forests, and shoot beavers for dinner. Where you skinny dip in the cold rivers and get leeches stuck up your urethra. Its where you put on fur hats and f*ck them at night because your cold and lonely. Its where you drink egg nog and maple syrup all year round. Its where you sit on your porch, listening to Alanis Morissette, while waiting for the inevitable day when we get invaded. Thats the Canada I love.
"The question is.. The question is.. The question is.. The greatest weight!" Epicureanism = the answer to everything, for within the context of it, that question holds....no weight! Yes, I will experience everything infinitely, and I will do my best to enjoy it within reason, every single time. Then, my life and mind hold more weight than any question. And, when I pass away, that which was once what I am now will continue on in myriad forms, experiencing everything infinitely.
