an easier way to do this is to print the picture backwards with a laser printer or copy machine (toner is the key here, not ink), and rub the back of the page with a reg soaked in xylene (a painter's chemical you can find in any home improvement store). the toner will come right off the page and onto just about anything.
The easier way to do this is get some sticky cupboard-lining paper or that kiddie craft sticker paper (actually what would work REALLY good are those huge sheets of craft foam that are sticky on one side), trace your design onto it, cut it out with an exacto-knife (but not all the way through to the paper it sticks to) then stick the whole sheet to the shirt (you could stick it to the shirt first then cut, but then you risk cutting your shirt- eep!)then remove the pieces that make up your design and paint!
