It's a web design thing. The w3c (World Wide Web Consortium) is in charge of writing the rules about how HTML, CSS, XHTML, XML, and other such markup languages are supposed to work. Unfortunatly, due to a few rather assenine and arrogent moves by various companies back in the early 90s, the W3C's rules are almost never obeyed. There is a recent movement, which I have joined, to remedy this problem and build websites that follow the rules. To aid in this endeavor, thw W3C made an automatic HTML checking page
